Responsibilities The Opportunity: This role is the technical expert of the Disaster Recovery program regarding Replication and Orchestration technologies. It delivers replication solutions to our Disaster Recovery processes in our heterogeneous IT environment, including on-premises, Cloud and hybrid hosting applications, working side by side with our Managed Service Provider across multiple IT services to replicate, recover and failback an entire application. The DR engineer expert will operate within a diverse team located across the globe and coordinate closely with our Infrastructure, Applications and DR team in all sectors to managed DR solutions as well as execution of DR drills with the main objective to improve RTO’s & RPO’s results. Your Impact: As Disaster Recovery Engineer your responsibilities would consist: Implement best in class DR Replication solutions & tools for Disaster Recovery program for Cloud, On-premises, or hybrid hosting environments. Manage and improve the Disaster Recovery Replication solutions according to our Global DR Program & Strategy (Cloud, On-premises, or Hybrid environments) Implement best in class Automation & Orchestration tools for Disaster Recovery program for Cloud, On-premises, or hybrid hosting environments. Responsible to drive the Technical DR Orchestration & Automation agenda. Coordinate interactions with Infrastructure, Applications, sectors & Enterprise Architecture teams to work in the DR Replication agenda including Vendors and Managed service providers. Support DR Drills/Test using Replication and Orchestration tools in coordination with DR team for cloud or on-premises environments. Managed and support any new DR capabilities delivered by our CTO org related to Replication. Build a knowledge library around Replication information according to our heterogeneous IT environments to improve the app knowledge ownership in PepsiCo. Support, coordinate and managed all DR engineering topics across several PepsiCo Sectors Qualifications Who Are We Looking For? Experience 2+ years of experience managing Disaster Recovery Replication methodologies and tools like VMware SRM, Storage replication, Zerto, Azure – ASR, Database replications like Oracle Data Gard, MS-SQL Always-On, Hana System Replication (HSR), etc. 2+ years of experience managing Disaster Recovery Orchestration methodologies and tools like Continuity Patrol, Hyper Automation, etc. 2+ Years of Proven expertise and strong skills on IT services technologies like servers & Platforms (Linux, Windows, HPUX, AIX, etc.), Virtualization (VMware), Storage (NAS, SAN), Backups (Rubrik), Databases (Oracle, MS-SQL, HANA, DB2) Advanced understanding of IT infrastructure and enterprise architectures in Cloud, On-premises, and hybrid environments Strong proficiency on Cloud technologies, especially on Disaster Recovery for MS Azure Cloud services, like ASR (Azure Site Recovery), HSR (Hana System Replication) & ANF (Azure NetApp Files) Strong Proficiency with DR technologies to support Network resiliency. Proficiency with Network technologies like WAN, LAN, IP’s, VLANs, Bandwidth and Traffic, Security, Load Balancers, DNS, Firewalls SNOW BCM knowledge preferable. Proficiency on DR processes, like DR Drills planning and strategy definition, with DR Governance skills and end to end DR execution, Business Impact analysis and technical analysis, DR Controls etc. Skills Able to operate within high-stress environments including simulated and actual disaster level events. Able to communicate complex technologies to non-technical leaders and individuals’ contributors. Experience leading and working with Managed Services providers. Comfortable engaging and working with Senior Leaders for our highly visibility DR services. Oriented to resolve technical issues. Analytical skills Detail oriented.
