General Purpose

The discovery and tracking manager is responsible for managing the company’s regulatory discovery process which requires that all regulatory data responses be on time, responsive, accurate, and fully reviewed. Assigns data request questions to the appropriate responders, track and manage the entire data request process, facilitate and participate in the regulatory review of responses, and is accountable for the on-time shipment of all data response packages. The discovery manager reviews for clarity, completeness and appropriateness within the context of the overall case.

The discovery and tracking manager also manages or supports the management of transaction commitment tracking and will be responsible for supporting the company's regulatory objectives and initiatives before regulators and/or their staffs, and other company departments on regulatory issues. In addition, the Rock Mountain Power manager has responsibility for the compliance program 
 

Responsibilities Manage the daily assignments of data requests, due dates, resolve discovery issues and provide guidance to business unit coordinators and responders in responding to data requests.   Responsible for the review and coordinate staff review of data responses for accuracy, consistency, and support of company positions.  Coordinate with necessary approvers/reviewers within the business units, legal counsel, and regulation management to ensure all responses are reviewed, approved, formatted and ready to ship on time.    Represent the regulation department in support of the company's regulatory objectives and initiatives.  As applicable, may oversee and support the Rocky Mountain Power regulatory compliance plan. As applicable, may select, coach, and develop employees. Review and evaluate employee performance and prepare annual reviews. 
  Requirements Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, mathematics, business, economics, engineering or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of seven years related regulatory experience. Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work with all levels of an organization, including people with different styles and backgrounds, to influence actions and negotiate outcomes; ability to work both independently and as a member of a team; ability to manage and motivate others. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to review draft responses. Competency in working within a rapid turn-around operation while maintaining strong attention to detail and assuring consistency in the company’s data responses. Strong interpersonal skills including ability to establish trust, maintain confidence and understand social behavior and interactions. Ability to work effectively with internal and external clients. Ability to manage multiple ongoing projects, meet project deadlines and work outside of normal business hours as needed to accomplish objectives. Understanding of utility commission rules and regulations and applicable state and local laws. Additional Information

This position is eligible for an annual discretionary performance incentive bonus of up to 15.00% of salary.
