This is a full-time 6-month internship (dates are June 9, 2025, through January 2, 2026).
What You Will Do
The CAD Design department is responsible for the creation and modification of all computer drafting, graphics, 3D models, and views generated (ground plans, detail drawings, schematic documentation, etc.) that help to tell the stories of our live show offerings including parades, stage shows and special events on and off the Disney property, and onboard the Disney Cruise Line.
We are looking for an experienced individual with an innovative mindset and a passion for Disney quality and Magical creativity. We are seeking a motivated individual who will ensure that the Disney standards are reflected consistently in all design & technical materials.
The CAD design intern will focus on two categories of work:
CAD Standards Development:
Building the assets and drawings for the standardsCreate CAD blocks and building template files, CAD library of CAD drawings and materialsAssisting in creating custom tool palettes of the standard CAD blocksCreating template files that have the CAD standards settings such as layers, fonts, leader styles, etc. already built into themProject Work
Assist in creating 3D scans of areas in Disneyland Resort that are requested for projects, learning how to use 3D scannerFind drawings that are requested for projects using our online documentation databaseProject drawing initial setupAssist in creating location plan drawings for projects adding standard CAD blocks for various types of devices (speakers, projectors, data boxes, etc.) Assisting in creating the base template drawings with all settings built in for projects (layers, title block, fonts, etc.)Demonstrating knowledge of basic design, including 2D digital drawings as well as 3D modeling Contributing within the field information gathering via laser scanning, digital photographs, and physical measurements Contributing to the advancement of Previsualization as part of the design workflow Facilitating a design from an art concept through a bid package as part of a collaborative design process Participating in appropriate Disney Live Entertainment seminars and meetings Coordinating conference room logistics for project/creative reviews and showsRequired Qualifications & Skills
Basic Experience & knowledge in creating and designing custom AutoCAD blocks & drawings (layers, fonts, leader styles and annotative scaling) Computer proficiency within a Windows environment such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Familiarity with BIM Concepts and processes Your creative background Knowledge of the Entertainment industry Gaining trust through motivation and communication Managing conflicting priorities Basic experience and Knowledge with Rhino, Revit, Rhino & Autodesk Revit Experience with Unreal Engine and developing VR ExperiencesMaterials Required

Currently enrolled as a junior, senior, or graduate student level studentMajor or previous coursework in Business, Supply chain, Finance, Data Management, Fashion Merchandising, Costume Technology, Apparel Buying, Apparel Development, Sourcing, or related fieldEligibility Requirements & Program Information
