This is a full-time 6-month internship (dates are January 11th, 2025, through June 7th, 2025).
What You Will DoThe Costume Production department is responsible for facilitating the manufacturing and maintenance of operational and entertainment costumes across The Walt Disney Company. At Disney, you will partner with Entertainment and Costuming Operations to ensure costume quality and design is consistently maintained.
Interface daily with the Workroom Teams, Costumers, Buyers, Designers, and varying levels of management within the Costuming organizationOther responsibilities include, but are not limited to draping, drafting, patterning, CAD/CAM process, costume construction, fittings, size charts and alterationsAttend possible meetingsObserve and assist with fittingsRequired Qualifications & SkillsProven knowledge of fabrics with an understanding of their relation to design and construction techniquesExperience in the Theater, Film or Apparel IndustryWillingness to learn and work with many different methods of construction that are unique to Creative CostumingProven planning and organizational skills with attention to detailComputer proficiency is strongly encouraged as well as willingness to learn various programsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work well with cross-functional teams and vendorsEducation: Currently enrolled as a senior or as a graduate student, pursuing a degree in Costume Design Production, Costuming, Clothing, or related fieldBe enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney InternshipCandidates for this opportunity MUST meet all the below requirements: Be at least 18 years of agePossess unrestricted work authorizationHave not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College ProgramBe compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelinesAvailable to work full-time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internshipAble to provide own housing in the Orlando, FL area and have reliable transportation to/from work (We provide limited housing opportunities for Florida-based Professional Interns through American Campus Communities; for more information, click here)Job Posting Segment:
