Description We are looking for a dedicated Dispatcher for our client in New Orleans, Louisiana. This short-term contract to full time position offers the opportunity to play a vital role in managing logistics operations, ensuring timely and efficient deliveries, and maintaining clear communication with drivers and customers. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments and excels at problem-solving under pressure. Responsibilities: • Monitor and oversee fuel inventories to prevent shortages and ensure uninterrupted operations • Develop and dispatch optimized driver routes based on customer needs and terminal availability • Communicate effectively with customers to provide updates, address concerns, and resolve delivery-related issues • Anticipate potential supply challenges and implement proactive solutions to maintain service reliability • Maintain accurate and detailed records of deliveries, inventory levels, and customer interactions • Collaborate with terminal staff, operations teams, and leadership to coordinate logistics planning • Respond to real-time issues with a focus on safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction • Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards during all dispatch activities Requirements • Proven ability to perform effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced work environments • Exceptional multitasking and time management skills • Strong decision-making abilities with a focus on operational safety and efficiency • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact professionally with drivers, customers, and internal teams • Proficiency in dispatch software and related tools, or the ability to quickly learn new systems • Availability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays • Experience in logistics, trucking, or dispatch roles is preferred but not required • Familiarity with terminal operations and bulk fuel hauling is a plus Robert Half puts you in the best position to succeed by advocating on your behalf and promoting you to employers.
