Position Summary

Handles communication, NavBlue Flight planning system, N-Tracking flight monitoring system, ACARS, SATCOM, HF Radio, telephone communications and the filing of flight plans. Handles inflight emergencies, flight operation irregularities due to mechanical failure or severe weather, schedule interruptions due to airport or airspace issues. Evaluates and monitors past and present weather reports, forecasts and advisories that will affect the areas of operation over which he/she will exercise flight control.

Key Responsibilities

Handles communication, NavBlue Flight planning system, N-Tracking flight monitoring system, ACARS, SATCOM, HF Radio, telephone communications and the filing of flight plans Handles inflight emergencies, flight operation irregularities due to mechanical failure or severe weather, schedule interruptions due to airport or airspace issues Evaluates and monitors past and present weather reports, forecasts and advisories that will affect the areas of operation over which he/she will exercise flight control Collects and processes NOTAMS (Notices to Airmen), Firing Notices, Operational Bulletins, hourly weather reports and forecasts, space weather, storms, Hurricane, and other severe weather phenomena Shares joint responsibilities with the Pilot-in-Command for the Dispatch Release of a flight in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulation and Operations Specifications, CFR part 5 SMS (Safety Management System) Exercises a continuous watch over each aircraft in flight, keeping the Pilot-in-Command and stations along the route fully informed of all conditions which might affect its operations Responsible for Safety, operational reliability, and economy when planning flights Performs other duties as required or assigned

Pay and Benefits

The pay rate for this position is $41.33/hr which includes the Dispatch license premium. Medical, dental and vision benefits are provided in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.

Minimum Requirements

Must have high school diploma or equivalent Must have thorough knowledge of computer operating systems and applications Must have good command of English language, both oral and written Must be able to work collaboratively with all levels of employees under pressure FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate required

**Hawaiian Airlines is regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT - regulation, 49 CFR part 40) and all applicants are advised that post-offer and/or pre-employment drug testing will be conducted to determine the presence of Marijuana, Cocaine, Opioids, PCP (Phencyclidine), and Amphetamine prior to any offer of employment or transfer into a safety-sensitive position.  Failure to submit to testing or positive indications of drug use will render the applicant ineligible for employment with Hawaiian Airlines and any employment offer will be withdrawn.
