Your new team

This position sits in our Chivas Brothers business. At Chivas Brothers, our 1,600-strong team across 27 sites is committed to upholding the heritage of Scotch and ensuring its sustainable future, as well as opening it up to new audiences across the globe.

The scope of Operations stretches from Procurement through conversion (distillation and maturation) and manufacturing (or bottling) to all the downstream Supply Chain activities until the final product is delivered.  In addition, Operations play a very active role in Innovation, Talent Development and Operational Risk Management.

This position sits within our Malt Distillation Team who are responsible for all production operations at our malt distilleries across Speyside and Orkney.  The key pillars to the success of the team are Safety, Environment, Compliance, Efficiency and Production.

Your unique contribution

You carry out all distillery operations necessary to enable raw materials to be processed into final product and co-products of the correct quality to meet customer requirements and achieve business goals.

Candidates must be aware that the distilleries operate a rotating shift pattern covering 5 days a week, 24 hours a day and must have a valid UK driving licence.

You will have four main areas of responsibility:

To oversee the production and distillation process, including grain transfer, milling, mashing, fermentation, wash and spirit still distillation and multiple effect evaporator systems.To operate a computer-based process system (SCADA) in order to produce quality distillate from raw materials and complete work in Windows based and other operating software packages.To take Quality Control samples and perform Quality Control tests throughout the distillation process.To perform fault finding analysis to optimise plant performance.

Who you’ll be working with

Internally, you’ll collaborate with other Distillery Operations Technician’s, On-Site Engineer’s, Site Management, Technical Centre team, Blending team.

Externally, you will collaborate with Contractors and Suppliers to support delivery of services to the highest standard.
