Job Description Summary:

An ASIC Hardware Engineer (DMTS) specifies, designs, verifies, tests, and documents Application-Specific Integrated Circuits. The engineer develops the architecture, designs circuits and/or HDL, performs simulations, performs physical layout, verifies and tests designs. Assignments may include performance of all aspects of the development process, from high-level design and specification to synthesis, layout, place and route, timing, signal and power integrity, and test.

Job Description:

Duties/Responsibilities
• Specify and validate ASIC architecture and define requirements.
• Design and simulate circuits at transistor-level to implement architecture and requirements.
• Perform physical layout, including floor-planning, and simulate circuits using extracted parasitics.
• Design and validate RTL.
• Perform logic synthesis and place-and-route for digital designs.
• Perform system-level design, including caches and memory subsystems.
• Perform timing, signal integrity, and power integrity analyses.
• Optimize hardware designs for performance, power, and cost.
• Evaluate the hardware feasibility of complex algorithms and requirements.
• Perform verification and debugging for designs.
• Guide designs through entire product cycle.
• Document all phases of chip development.
• Independently drive solutions to complex, multidisciplinary problems with a deep understanding of a customer's strategic priorities.
• Capable of helping customers shape their needs and develop requirements for programs that solve their most challenging technical problems.
• Subject Matter Expert (SME) in ASIC architectures and designs with broad knowledge across related technical disciplines.
• Contributes to advancing State of the Art (SOA) solutions and techniques in their field.
• Contribute to Draper strategic objectives and work with management to build capability in key areas to help sustain business growth.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills/Abilities
• Proficiency in ASIC design, microprocessor programming or embedded computing.
• Understanding of ASIC design and general computer architecture.
• Ability to write detailed design specifications.
• Computer programming and coding abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines.

Education
Requires bachelor's degree in Engineering, or related field. Masters degree preferred.

Experience
Requires 10+ years of experience in ASIC Hardware Engineering or related.

Position requires the ability to obtain a US secret clearance which requires proof of US citizenship.
