They plan/execute daily activities to ensure internal/external customer demands are met, as well as driving continuous improvement of safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and cost through the use of Lean Manufacturing tools. The Distribution Area Manager measures, gives feedback, rewards and /or top-grades associates to ensure that the right talent is on the team.
This position is part of the Shipping/Receiving and Distribution team located in Romeoville, IL and will be onsite in Romeoville, IL.
Schedule: This is a salaried role with the general hours of 5.30 am to 3.00 pm. Weekends and Overtime may be required.
In this role, a typical day will look like:
Daily supervision of staff (approx. 30) to ensure internal and external customer demands are met.Leading teams in meeting safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and cost goals through the use of Lean Manufacturing tools.Tracking each team's achievement of Standard of Work and ensuring the team records all improvement opportunities.Responsible for creating and executing data-driver action plans to improve standard work and performance.Working with order management to evaluate customer orders versus available labor and materials. Developping a daily and weekly build/ship plan and meeting on-time delivery objectives.Creating and executing policy deployment action plans through all areas of responsibility by using Veralto Enterprise System tools, budget reports, and short and long-term company goals.Evaluating associates' performance, development plans and merit recommendations. Coaching, training and counseling associates to improve performance. Working closely with HR department to resolve issues resulting from unacceptable associate's behavior. Top-grading talent as required to ensure a strong team.The essential requirements of the job include:
1 year or more of direct management experience. BA/BS degree a plus.Ability to communicate effectively with both Sr. Leaders and Associates.Scheduling, planning, and project management skills and experience, as well as strong time management skills.Data and Fact-Based problem solving and reporting skills.Lean manufacturing experience (Kaizens, Kanban, root cause counter measures, etc.)Basic financial understanding.Experience with Inventory management.Ability to read, write, and speak English.It would be nice if you also possess:

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.
The compensation range for this role is $95,000 - $99,000 USD per year. This job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
