Distribution Center Manager - Battleboro

The Distribution Center Manager-Battleboro will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of a fast-paced distribution center. This hands-on position demands a creative and problem-solving mindset to address the various challenges that arise in a dynamic environment. The manager will oversee all aspects of the distribution process, ensuring that operations run smoothly and internal and customer service metrics are consistently met.

This position will directly manage the Battleboro, NC Distribution Center and while maintaining a collaborative relationship with Distribution Service Centers in California, Indiana, New Jersey and Texas.

Purpose of Position/Major responsibilities - Ongoing tasks:

Lead all distribution operations in Battleboro, NC; including inventory, kitting, wire cutting, pick and pack and shipping operations.Provide a safe and inclusive work environment that challenges and allows employees to develop and advance.Develop and enforce standard work proceses and procedures that will achieve the strategic objectives of the operation.Maintain leadership role in Warehouse Management System, working with IT and customers to effectively integrate with SAP and various customer interfaces (EDI, ASN, customer portals).Hands-on leadership role in learning, training and enforcing process controls on the floor and in the Warehouse Management System.Work with team to drive continuous improvement actions for departmental KPI’s (Safety, OTD, OTIF, Fulfillment rate, Scrap, Labor efficiencies, Variable Cost, Inventory Accuracy and Customer Satisfaction)Work with quality and distribution teams to drive department’s quality efforts through example and issuance of policy when necessary. This includes all operational activities governed by ISO 9001 and EEBU Quality System RequirementsWork with HSE and distribution teams to ensure employees are provided with a workplace that is free from avoidable safety and environmental hazards and in compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. Drive 6S and Layer Process Audits (LPAs) in all distribution locations.Contribute to company cost reduction goals by generating and implementing cost reduction projects.Evaluate and approve cost center budgets in accordance with Management Plan (ManPlan).Manage the transportation of all shipments including coordinating carriers, overseeing claims, and scheduling international shipments.Work closely with Business Team and Sales to understand customer needs, making sure that the Distribution Center is aligned and ready to exceed customer expectations.Participate in customer/ supplier teams to provide solutions and drive customer intimacy. Drive or participate in customer improvement projects such as EFM or system integration.

Knowledge and skill requirements:

Strong knowledge of Warehouse Operations and Inventory Control principlesStrong leadership skillsStrong computer skills including SAP, Data Analysis and Warehouse ManagementBS in related field or 5-10 years work experience in a fast paced Distribution Center
