Distribution Center Supervisor

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


• Pull and organize orders from the warehouse by part number and quantity as directed by picking tickets in the priority assigned. Orders may be customer orders, IBTs, or returns (excess and vendor).
• Creates detailed schedule timelines to ensure all inbound and outbound shipments meet specifications.
• Develops and provides input on labor requirements needed.
• Package, label, and ship customer orders by UPS, US Mail, bus, motor freight, and local truck deliveries.
• Ensure all stock is pulled and loaded into the delivery vehicle with accompanying and necessary documents, in conjunction with delivery schedules maintaining a minimum accuracy rate of 99%.
• Train new employees to properly use and maintain equipment and facilities utilized in their job performance. A follow-up to ensure results are achieved.
• Coordinates workforce requirements by increasing or decreasing personnel and overtime to meet changing conditions.
• Interfaces with other departments to ensure Inbound and outbound deadlines are met.
• Develops a process plan for each distribution receipt, including people, resources, equipment, and floor space.
• Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet departmental schedules.
• Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase the efficiency of the distribution center and its employees.
• Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
• Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve goals.
• Confers with other Supervisors (s) and Managers to coordinate department activities.
• Reports machine and equipment malfunctions to maintenance personnel.
• Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
• Adheres to all safety procedures in the performance of job duties.
• Participate in the annual physical inventory
• Weigh materials or products and record weight and other production data on tags and labels
• Participate in the annual physical inventory.
• Work on special projects as appointed by the warehouse manager
• Ability to assist with inventory control processes and procedures

EDUCATION & TRAINING
•    A bachelor's degree in business or equivalent is preferred
•    Good computer skills, including database, spreadsheet, and good working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (JDA, Manhattan, etc.)

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
•    A minimum of three-plus years of warehouse and supervisory experience is required
•    Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills are required
•    Effectively present information to customers, clients, and other employees in 1 on 1 and small group
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Moderate physical effort and use of motor skills require manual dexterity. Regularly stand, walk, and sit. Occasionally, lift, lower, carrying parts between 5 – 60 lbs.

Lots of activity, workers, and equipment are constantly moving, which requires constant adherence to safety procedures and rules
EQUIPMENT     OSHA-approved steel-toed safety shoes are required from the first day on the job.
