Distribution Coordinator, Microbulk (Full Time) - Edmonton, AB

Primary Purpose:

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Distribution Coordinator is based in Edmonton, Alberta and responsible for supporting the Operations Manager in coordinating the Microbulk drivers and fleet across Western Canada. The key goals of this position are to ensure safe, compliant, efficient, and profitable operations while delivering excellent customer service.

Key Accountabilities:

Assist in ensuring safety and compliance of microbulk transport operations, in accordance with Linde and regulatory requirements.
Provide support to the Operations Manager by coordinating drivers across multiple provinces and assist with daily inquiries for unionized and non-unionized operations.
Coordinate scheduled fleet maintenance at preferred shops and assist with vehicle break downs
Coordinate tanker scheduling for annual permits and certifications
Be proficient with TDG regulations and assist with PeopleNet OBC training and issues
Understand and assist with Accustar handheld training and issues
Review on-board technology for coaching opportunities with drivers when they arise
Manage JDE Recurring Order scheduling and releasing on a weekly basis
Review telemetry and schedule deliveries and release orders across all hubs
Dispatch same day delivery requests received from the Order Desks
Coordinate vacation scheduling and ensure appropriate coverage
Purchase and stock standard PPE at home hub and ship out to drivers as needed
Compile monthly summary of any events, downtime and product shortages

Education:

High school graduate or equivalent experience
Class 3Q driver license
College, vocational school or university degree in transportation, business administration, supply chain, logistics or similar will be considered differential.

Experience:

24 months for commercial vehicles as a pre-condition for selection.
Experience with transporting liquids is an asset
No Level 1 or Level 2 equivalent “in control” vehicle incidents within the past 24 months.
Relevant product knowledge and experience preferred

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

Strong safety culture.
Strong knowledge in Microsoft office and other digital platforms.
Able to work with KPIs and reports to drive actions.
Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of vehicle maintenance
Knowledge of compressed gases and the safe handling of gases
Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information
System (WHMIS) training
Strong aptitude for delivery technology (handheld computers, E-Logs)
