**Distribution Designer** Location **Portland** Job Code **17723** \# of openings **1** Apply Now (https://phh.tbe.taleo.net/phh04/ats/careers/v2/applyRequisition?org=POWERENGINEERS&cws=44&rid=17723) **Distribution Designer** POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking an entry-level distribution Designer/Engineering Technician for the Power Delivery Distribution Department in our Portland, OR office. **Roles and Responsibilities** + The qualified candidate should be familiar with the design and operation of utility electrical systems which they can apply their knowledge for developing new designs. + Compilation of design packages for construction + Perform quality reviews of project deliverables + Occasional field data collection **Required Education/Experience** + One (1) + years of electric utility design experience + General experience in the design, operation, construction, and maintenance of overhead and underground distribution lines (4 kV through 35 kV) and/or strong familiarity with construction processes + Exposure to utility standards, NESC, and an understanding of construction techniques + Ability to learn and use design software packages efficiently, retain and apply on the job training + Ability to work effectively in design teams + Self-motivated to perform assigned tasks and take the initiative to learn the trade + Some travel should be expected + Must be able to successfully pass client's background screening process + Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record + Must have a strong command of the English language and possess good written and oral communications skills **Desired Education/Experience** + Three (3) + years of electric utility design experience + General construction knowledge and aptitude + Strong computer skills + Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills + Excellent organizational skills + Excellent verbal and written communication skills + Ability to multitask and prioritize work + Ability to work in a fast-paced environment At POWER Engineers, you can have a rewarding career on every level.
