POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Distribution Designer for the Power Delivery Distribution Department in our Ft Mill, SC office. The qualified candidate will become familiar with the design, operation, construction, and maintenance of overhead and underground distribution lines (4 kV through 35 kV) and apply their newly gained knowledge for developing new designs. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Create a compilation of design packages for constructionPerform quality reviews of project deliverablesAbility to work in design teams, is self-motivated to perform assigned tasks, and take the initiative to learn the tradeSome travel should be expectedRequired Education/ExperienceGeneral experience and/or strong familiarity with construction processesExposure to utility standards, NESC, and an understanding of construction techniquesMust be able to successfully pass client's background screening processMust have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving recordDesired Education/ExperienceA two-year technical certificate or degree is preferred but not requiredPrior utility design experience or distribution line work is highly preferredExposure to utility Geographical Information Systems (GIS); GE Smallworld, ArcFM, etc.Exposure to utility standards, the ability to use design software packages, and general construction knowledge and aptitudeStrong computer design skills, the ability to learn new software packages efficiently, and retain and apply on the job trainingMust have strong command of the English language and possess good written and oral communications skillsAt POWER Engineers, you can have a rewarding career on every level.
