Distribution Drafter (Hybrid)

POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Distribution Drafter for the Power Delivery Distribution Department in our Edmonton, Alberta office.

Roles and ResponsibilitiesThe position will work with electrical and civil engineers and designers to develop electrical utility construction packages from conception through construction. The candidate should be able to work in design teams, be self-motivated to perform assigned tasks, and take initiative to learn new skills.The successful candidate will be responsible for learning, understanding, and implementing CAD knowledge; learning client standards, practices, and procedures to ensure that work produced conforms to the client's standards, procedures, and processes; collaborating on design issues; and seeking guidance from those with more experience.Required QualificationsDiploma or degree in an accredited drafting program (Engineering Design or Drafting Technology)Strong understanding of computer-aided design (CAD) software with emphasis on AutoCAD and MicroStationAttention to detail, time management, prioritization, and organizational skills will be critical for completing tasksStrong written and oral communications skillsDesired QualificationsReliable self-starter who takes ownership of assigned tasksWilling and able to learn new software packages, procedures, and client standardsKnowledge of basic electrical and/or civil engineering concepts would be considered an asset
