Entry Level Distribution Engineer

Job Description:

Produce engineering designs for energy Distribution projects.Project work will include preparing forestry trimming requests, facilitating permit and Right-of-Way acquisition, development of a BOM, estimating costs, etc.All projects will be related to electric power distribution and leadership - specifically make-ready and smart antenna.Provide engineering support during construction, including post-construction reviews to ensure all applicable engineering and construction standards have been met.Travel to sites as needed, perform inspections and return to the office to perform engineering design work.As a core team member, you will be interacting with other electric utility disciplines, playing a valuable part in performing field inspections, engineering design work and calculations

Skills & Qualifications:

B.S. Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is required Minimum 6 months or internship experience in the electric utility industry, including primary and secondary distribution systems, utility standards, ability to use design software packages, and general construction knowledge and aptitude.Must have strong interpersonal skills, self-motivation/initiative, and the desire to learn.Possess the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with all levels in the organization and with outside clients and agenciesAnalytical competence to interact with variety of individuals including engineers and experienced distribution system designers

Work Environment:

80% of the day will be design development and coordination. 20% will be required to go out in the field.Open Environment, promotes teamwork, Working in group on projects, Office Environment.
