Distribution Engineer
Job Title: Distribution Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Distribution Engineer who will spend time occasionally at one of the service centers, but most of the time will be spent in the field or working remotely. The role involves developing designs for electronic, electro-mechanical, or mechanical equipment, creating preliminary layouts, sketches, and notes necessary to present design proposals. You will investigate pertinent design factors, coordinate with other organizations, and make layouts of complex assemblies. The position requires checking completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, and accuracy. You will identify design errors and recommend revisions or improvements.

-Will be able to spend on occasion one of the Consumers service centers but the rest of the time will be spent in the field or fully remote

-2-3 days/week in office - other days can be remote

Day to day:

-10-20% of work field inspections

-60-80% engineering and development of design packages for construction crews

-10% performing administrative tasks, planning, and/or customer follow-up

Must be comfortable in both field and office settingMust be able to lift 20 lbs Must be able to walk up to to 2 miles on unpaved surfaces ResponsibilitiesDevelop designs for electronic, electro-mechanical, or mechanical equipment.Create preliminary layouts, sketches, and notes for design proposals.Investigate design factors such as ease of manufacture, material availability, and cost.Coordinate with other organizations affected by design development.Make layouts of complex assemblies and detail parts of devices, mechanisms, and structures.Check completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, and accuracy.Identify design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies; recommend revisions or improvements.Must Have Qualifications

-Bachelors of Science in Engineering degree (EE or CE preferred) is preferred and 0-2 years of prior relevant experience or Masters degree

-Associates Degree will be considered with 1-3 years relevant experience.

-Relevant experience is either working directly with an electric utility or an electric utility consulting company, performing design engineering.

-Experience using CAD tools

Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with the National Electric Safety Code (NESC).Familiarity with PoleForeman, SAP, and Microstation.Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification.Collaborative and inclusive of diverse backgrounds and locations.Positive attitude and ability to work effectively in teams.Professional dress and demeanorPay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00
