System One is currently seeking a Distribution Engineer on a 2 year contract position located in Jonesboro, GA.
Distribution Engineer Responsibilities:
Distribution Engineer Requirements: A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field is typically required. A master's degree may be preferred for more specialized roles. Many Distribution Engineers are required to hold a professional engineering license (PE) or similar certifications, which vary by region. Proficiency in distribution system design software, computer-aided design (CAD) tools, and power system simulation software. Familiarity with AutoCAD and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) may be beneficial. In-depth knowledge of electrical distribution principles, grid operation, protection systems, and equipment. Understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for assessing network performance, diagnosing issues, and proposing solutions. A strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures in designing and maintaining electrical distribution systems. Project management skills to effectively plan, execute, and oversee distribution infrastructure projects. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders. Ability to adapt to new technologies, industry trends, and changing energy demands in the electrical distribution sector.
