Summary See below for important information regarding this job. Responsibilities Directs and Manages the day-to-operation of the DLA Distribution Center as the Group Deputy Chief. Works with Center’s Senior Management Officials in the development of the center’s Mission, Goals and Objectives. Serves as the Senior Distribution and Transportation Manager. Identify, Develop, and Implement better approaches and practices in Distribution. Attends/Conducts conferences with HQ Staff, and Personnel to negotiate/recommend solutions on supply/transportation related matters. Performs as Liaison with, and takes direction from Distribution HQ/Commander on a multitude of special projects and initiatives. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To qualify for a Distribution Facilities Manager, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Planning, directing, and coordinating the group's work, along with delegating responsibilities to supervisors. Establishing and implementing daily goals and objectives as well as long-range plans and internal management controls for the purpose of controlling operations, determining costs, and evaluating performance while taking necessary action to correct program and operational deficiencies. Overseeing group related studies to develop, analyze, evaluate, & advise on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of work methods, organizations, manpower utilization, work distribution, and related management functions. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
