The Distribution Leader is responsible for coordinating personnel, materials, and equipment to optimize warehouse labor efficiency while managing safety, service, employee relations and quality standards of the Satellite Distribution Center
Position Detail – Responsibilities
Manage people and assets of the department to obtain goals while maintaining a safe work place. Extensive short-term planning based on established and changing priorities. Involves ongoing problem solving. Must be able to communicate clearly and secure the cooperation of others in a distribution/ warehouse environment. Responsible to make decisions and represent company policy on disputed issues. Continually strive to reduce costs and eliminate waste. Must work effectively in a fast paced team environment with constant interruptions. Must clearly communicate business goals so associates understand how they contribute to the organization’s success. Other duties as assigned. Supports the total facility/sites efforts by coordinating warehouse personnel and directing the flow of shipments/goods across multiple shifts. Responsible for all hourly and salaried direct reports and assigned departmental processes within established operations priorities. Responsibilities include providing necessary coaching, training and administering discipline. Drives improvement projects as required and works closely with finance to make sure budgetary expectations are being achieved. Responsible for supporting the rollout of PEAK initiatives onsite to conform to writings program goals. Support and sustain all SEAL guidelines for safety and safe working practices. Promote positive employee relations through effective management and issue resolution Maintain adherence to Company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices. Schedule vacations and overtime, as required. Manage hourly workforce on an 8-hour shift, Monday-Friday, overtime and weekends as needed. Must be able to qualify for and maintain fork lift license; valid state issued driver’s license and successful completion of eye exam required. Perform other duties as required or directed. Work closely with Sr Mgr Of Operations to ensure BUs success and support of divisional goals
.Position Detail – Key Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Management/ Business/ Supervision/Distribution or similar preferred. 4 or more years of supervisory experience in distribution/ logistics/ warehouse environment Team oriented, self-motivated and positive attitude. Ability to contribute and work within a cross-functional team Good communication both written and verbal. Demonstrated proficiency in PkMS and SAP as it related to job responsibilities. Experience with all MS Office products and ability to use Excel.
