What do our Distribution Center Managers do?

A successful Distribution Center Manager is a motivated team who can work with a focus on results in achieving company business goals. Success includes planning, organizing & effectively communicating within the assigned distribution center to optimize profit and meet marketing, financial and corporate growth objectives while developing and enhancing the customer experience within Target Specialty products.

Hiring, on-boarding, training, scheduling, and assigning work to new hiresEnsuring employees have the necessary equipment, materials, and documents to ensure successful completion of tasksMonitoring and adjusting resources to achieve the daily shipment goalsBalancing workloads by taking readings throughout the day to achieve the appropriate level of volume by the projected time of completionMonitoring the work performance of each employee to ensure that quality and quantity expectations are met or exceededConducting staff meetings and verifying that daily work is completed accurately and on a timely basisProviding ongoing training and retraining of employees to ensure that they are prepared to meet or exceed the standards for their functionUtilizing a variety of reports, summaries, and procedures to project workload and resolve problems that arise during the workdayCommunicate effectively across all levels of the businessAnalyzing information effectively to make sound business decisionsBuild high-performance teams while engaging and inspiring colleaguesEnsure packing of shipments adhere to all specification and regulationsCompletes and adheres to all required safety trainingReport all accidents and near misses within 24hrsOther duties may be assigned.

What do you need?

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalentForklift Certified within 30 days of HireHAZ Shipment (UPS/ FEDex) certified within 60 days of Hire4+ years related experience in warehouse management2+ years prior supervisory or group leading experience in a distribution center or warehouse environmentFamiliarity with multiple web browsers and Google based platformFamiliarity with Radio Frequency (RF) equipmentMust pass pre-employment background screen#LI-MG1
