The Distribution Manager is responsible for oversight and direction across the shipping, receiving, and cycle counting teams at Indianapolis. This position will also be responsible for providing distribution thought leadership, as well as the execution of all key logistics processes.
This position reports to the Indianapolis Supply Chain Manager and is part of the supply chain team located in Indianapolis, Indiana and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
+ Manage associates, procedures and trainings for shipping, receiving, and inventory control
+ Report and manage performance of daily operations focusing on incoming receiving, pick & pack, and shipments
+ Co-ordinate with Logistics Service Providers and monitor daily inbound/outbound deliveries
+ Manage and maintain business relationships with Appointed Service Providers
+ Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPI) metrics to measure efficiency and improvement of Associates
+ Improve Freight and Warehousing processes and systems; driving towards “Best-In-Class” operations within Beckman and Danaher groups with a focus on aligning strategy to meet customer demands holistically
+ Lead and participate in Kaizen projects in collaboration with internal & external stakeholders
The essential requirements of the job include:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or related discipline, preferably in multiple aspects of logistics and distribution in large volume
+ 5+ years working experience in similar function and industry
+ A minimum of 4+ years experience in People Management role with strong, proven and visible leadership history
+ Working knowledge of Oracle / SAP / TMS
+ Language proficiency in English
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
+ Strong critical thinking skills, ability to exercise independent judgment and manage complexity and ambiguity
+ Implementation of Warehouse Management Systems
