Your Role:
MilliporeSigma in Oakville, Ontario is hiring a Distribution Supervisor. The Distribution Supervisor oversees the efficient operation of the warehouse and distribution center ensuring that all activities are performed safely, accurately, and in compliance with company policies and regulations. This role involves supervising warehouse staff, managing inventory, optimizing workflow processes, and ensuring timely distribution of goods.
Responsibilities:
Supervision and Leadership:Manage and lead a team of warehouse staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.Be a backup during vacations of the Associate Manager, Distribution Analyst and Senior Lead.Foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and employee engagement.Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.Inventory Management:Oversee inventory control processes, including stock level monitoring, ordering, and accurate record-keeping.Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and address discrepancies promptly.Coordinate with purchasing and logistics departments to manage stock replenishment and minimize stockouts or overstock situations.Warehouse Operations:Optimize warehouse layout and processes to enhance efficiency and streamline workflows.Monitor and manage the receipt, storage, and distribution of goods to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.Ensure proper handling and storage of materials, adhering to company and regulatory standards.Logistics Coordination:Oversee the scheduling and coordination of shipments and deliveries, working closely with transportation providers and internal departments.Resolve any issues related to shipment delays, damages, or discrepancies.Performance Metrics and Reporting:Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to warehouse operations, such as order accuracy, on-time delivery, and inventory turnover.Analyze performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.Compliance and Documentation:Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and regulatory requirements.Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to inventory, shipments, and operational procedures.Miscellaneous:Be part of the on-call emergencies during and outside of business hours.Be part of the First Aid responder Team.Operate Reach, counterbalance forklift and pallet walkie.Work on process improvement and sustainability projects.Work with contractors on maintenance and projects in the distribution center.
This position may include having to work outside of normal business hours.
Physical attributes:

Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent5+ years of experience in warehouse or distribution center management1+ years of experience in a supervisory role
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or other business field Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control proceduresExperience with Dangerous Goods, Spill-Team Response/Clean UpExcellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to analyze data, solve problems, and make decisions in a fast-paced environmentProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP
