Distribution Supervisor

The Supervisor, Distribution is responsible for one or more functional operations and one or more channels within the Distribution Centre (DC). The position is responsible for planning and executing the daily activities associated with assigned functional areas within the DC. The position will manage assigned processes and people assigned to their span of control, establish performance standards, and monitor performance of assigned employees. The Supervisor, Distribution is responsible for the implementation of strategic plans improving operations in the areas of cost, quality and service.

RESPONSIBILITES:

Responsible for managing and overseeing various functions within the warehouse; Responsible for ensuring customer SLAs and internal KPIs are met; Plan and manage all activities to ensure work is completed to meet department goals; Ensure warehouse personnel are properly trained in all tasks and duties; Develop and support work-related cost control, productivity, and quality standards for assigned functional area; Ensure all Occupational Safety and Health Association (OSHA) and Company safety and security standards and guidelines are adhered to; Complete employee performance reviews and initiate corrective or disciplinary action as required; Identify and support the development of employees' skills for advancement opportunities; Responsible for inventory integrity including performing cycle counts on a regular basis; Communicate and support internal and external customers when required; Possess administrative skills necessary to ensure all paperwork is controlled and properly processed; Proficiency in any/all system or equipment needed to complete all job duties: PC, scanners, manifest system, warehouse management systems (WMS); Demonstrate system and process troubleshooting skills to identify, communicate, and correct issues within the department and as it relates to other departments; Demonstrate organizational knowledge of size, scope, and departmental interactions of Distribution Centre; Provide assistance to other functional areas as needed; Implement continuous quality improvement strategies; May be involved in physically performing work as required; People Management activities, including but not limited to: hiring, coaching, performance management, development, corrective action and termination; Other duties as assigned by manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Post Secondary Education Minimum of 5 years Inventory experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Knowledge of computer hardware and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Platform environment is required - Baan preferred Proficient in Microsoft Office or equivalent Must possess excellent leadership skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills; team building skills Demonstrates good time management skills Demonstrates strong motivational and team building capabilities Good analytical skills
