Distribution Team Lead - (2-10pm)

Position Summary

The Team Leader, Distribution is a functional role that provides guidance, work levelling, assistance, and leadership to a team of Material Handlers and Drivers. To assure team continuity across all warehouse operations, this position is expected to gain and maintain knowledge of all aspects of Warehouse Operations functional execution with limited exception. 

The role works collaboratively with key business partners to ensure timeliness of execution, replenishment, accuracy, condition, and / or other. Interacting with all aspects of Cantel to meet business requirements. The role also works closely with these business partners to identify and implement best practices and address challenges timely and appropriately using a coordinated effort.

 

2nd Shift Hours: Monday through Friday 1:00 pm - 9:30 pm

What you’ll do as a Team Lead (Distribution):

Assure staff remain level loaded throughout the shift, adjusting as needed in areas of assignment.

Primary contact point for other functional groups to reduce Specialist distraction.

Lead troubleshooting issues as they arise.

Assist in staff assessments, assignments, training plans, and projects.

Assist in the development of improvement strategies and execution plans.

Support and foster team empowerment and lead by example.

Cycle Counting coordination and / or execution.

Follow all provided control procedures and policies to complete tasks.

Lead engagement activities assuring promotion of a safe work environment.

Functionally work within team to complete shop floor execution daily requirements.

Lead coordination efforts and flow of product through the areas of report including but not limited to transacting, storage, labelling, movement, packaging, shipment, and return from field and or stock.

The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed:

Required:

5 years related disciplines experience.

Previous forklift experience (counterbalance, stock picker, reach truck) preferred, if none, ability to become certified.

General proficiencies in Microsoft Office and ERP.

A wide and comprehensive knowledge of general and specific aspects of the position and their practical applications to problems and situations ordinarily.

 

Preferred: 

General proficiencies SAP.

 

Other:

Ability to work independently and as a team in a fast paced, changing environment.

Maintain positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.

Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance and work overtime as required. (2nd Shift Hours: Monday through Friday 1:00 pm - 9:30 pm)

Working Conditions:

Up to 100% sitting, standing and walking in an 8-hour workday, more if working overtime.

Ability to continuously wear personal protective equipment and/or clean room attire.

Ability to operate power tools/equipment and hand tools.

Ability to work with or around chemicals.
