Primary responsibility of the Retail District Manager – Northern CA, OR, WA, & UT is to service customers. Secondary responsibility is to execute the directives, policies, and procedures of the company to ensure customer service, product sales, and profitability. The position typically supervises 8 to 12 Retail Store General Managers on a direct report basis, in multiple states. All candidates must currently reside within a commutable distance to a Blick location within the district.
Customer Service training to increase sales and to ensure customer satisfactionBudgeting of stores for all lines of the Profit Loss statementsEnsure Cash Handling complianceEnsure compliance with all company policies and proceduresEnsure that locations operate in a safe and productive mannerManage and execute associate hiring, training, career development, disciplinary actions, and termination of employment; final interview in the Assistant Manager hiring processHouse account contact, collections, and sales for training Store General ManagersInventory Management through; assortment modifications, auditing the receiving of shipments, adjusting inventory levels through replenishment methods, problem solving, special orders, and compliance to new systemsLocal marketing with schools, businesses, newspapers, magazines, and galleriesLegal compliance with labor laws in all states that the company has a physical presence, ensuring compliance to with ADA, OSHA, and local government regulations and requirementsLoss Prevention through; training, auditing, analysis, and action regarding; cash, P&L review and management, payroll management, inventory, repairs and maintenance, and associate compliance with programsMotivational directives and instruction though store visits, training meetings, e-mail, and callsSales through product knowledge, market knowledge, and all the aboveAttendance of trade show events for sales, information gathering, and overall customer service to DB not just retailCommunicate with every department in DB Company and follow up with department managers on a regular basisStore Visits will consist of at least eight hours in the store per day along with time spent visiting local competition; additional time will be spent on after hours store meetings on occasionGeneral Requirements:

The District Manager directly and indirectly supervises all personnel within their assigned store locations and is responsible for leadership of the managers in the stores; spends most of the working time performing exempt managerial job functions and is expected to work on average 45+ hours per weekPhysical Demands:
Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds while using the appropriate lifting techniques and following all safety rules.Prolonged walking, standing, and climbing ladders.Travel:
70% travel is required normally Tuesday through Friday with overnight stays and some weekends.Qualifications:
High School Graduate, College preferred but not requiredAt least five years of managerial experience in medium to large size box storesDemonstrated superior sales performance throughout careerPrevious Area or District Manager experience is preferredDemonstrated ability to recruit, develop, and supervise personnelComputer literate, including Microsoft Word and Microsoft ExcelOther Duties:

Pay Rate:
The pay range below is provided in compliance with state/city specific laws. This pay range applies to this location. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.
$90,000 - $110,000 + Sales Incentives
