Required Minimum Qualifications High School diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) Two (2) years’ related working experience in a warehouse setting Valid Texas driver’s license with an acceptable driving record Preferred Qualifications Training in a warehouse setting operating warehouse equipment including forklift, order picker, electric or manual pallet jacks, two-wheel handcart, and rolling ladder Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal relationships Skilled using word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment Physical Demands and Work Environment Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representatives of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work EnvironmentThe work environment characteristics described here are representatives of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. Position Information Job Title District Warehouse Assistant Posting Number F006595 Position Status Full Time Grant Funded No Category Plant Operations Class Code 65 Starting Pay $39,832 Special Note Location District Department DT Physical Plant Job Summary Reporting to the District Warehouse Manager, the District Warehouse Assistant is responsible for warehouse activities including requisitioning, receiving, documentation, warehousing, distribution, inventory, and reporting of goods. Assists in product research, pricing, and ordering and maintains close working relationships with warehouse personnel at the district and campus levels. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Essential Performance Requirements* Observes TCCD and Physical Plant Department policies, procedures, and guidelines while performing warehouse functions including requisitioning and status tracking, order receiving and documentation, warehousing and handling of goods, assembly and processing of outgoing orders, current inventory of warehoused assets, and using computer to perform functions as required Handles goods delivered to the warehouse receiving area by opening bales, crates, or containers as required; counting and recording quantities of goods received; moving goods to designated areas; and placing goods in bins or on racks or shelves according to a predetermined inventory stocking system Processes requests for warehoused goods by assembling the ordered items from stock; marking order with when, where, and to whom to be delivered; and delivering the order or arranging for its delivery or pickup Drives a district vehicle to transport goods from the district warehouse to other campus warehouses or departments; picks up goods from vendors at various locations Monitors physical condition of the district warehouse and warehouse equipment Notifies the District Warehouse Manager of the need for warehouse and equipment repairs Participates in a program of quality customer service and continuous service improvement throughout the Physical Plant Department Service Excellence Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite Observes safety protocols and regulations and participates in an ongoing safety-training program to cover all aspects of the work performed by the Physical Plant Department Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC) Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the CollegeSupervisionWorks under the general supervision of the District Warehouse Manager
