**Join our dynamic team at the** **Minnesota Department of Health (MDH),** **where your passion for public health can make a tangible impact on the well-being of all Minnesotans.** The Office of Diversity, Inclusion, Belonging, Equity and Strategy (DIBES) is seeking a Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Supervisor who provides leadership in advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging (DEIB), and anti-racism efforts across the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH). This position supports the strategic integration of DEIB principles into all aspects of MDH’s operations, policies, and programs to promote systemic change, foster a culture of belonging, and advance health equity statewide. As primary subject matter support and advisor to DIBES leadership, this position functions as the strategic implementor and supervisor for a DEIB efforts across MDH’s divisions.
Key responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
+ Provide supervision, direction, and oversight of assigned team members. Ensure the integration of work across the agency and co-manage the department’s resources and staff in support of the agency objectives.
+ Create and implement priorities, objections, and authorize actions taken by the DEIB team. Manage day to day supervision and operations within limits set by law, budget, and MDH directives.
+ Lead DEIB work internally, focusing on implementation of the MDH and DEIB strategic plans and frameworks and leading the operational strategy.
+ Develop, assess, monitor, and report on tracking measures to evaluate effectiveness and identify gaps in DEIB efforts to improve workplace inclusion and culture. Work in tandem with the DIBES Manager to utilize data to drive strategy, improve accountability, and communicate progress to stakeholders.
+ Support DEIB in all MDH Policies: monitor and develop department-wide policies to ensure MDH has inclusive and equitable standards and policies are reviewed and updated regularly and as changes occur statewide.
Candidates residing in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota, or South Dakota may have the option to **telework;** however, telework schedules are based on the unit's operational needs and are at supervisory discretion.
**Minimum Qualifications**

+ Four (4) years or more of diversity, equity, and inclusion experience and one (1) year of experience in a leadership role.
*Leadership experience can include:
+ Experience as a supervisor, lead worker, team lead, project lead;
+ Completion of a State of Minnesota leadership program (e.g. ELI, SLI,L4);
+ A paid/unpaid position leading a program or chairing a committee (e.g. ERG)
Additional minimum qualifications to be assessed at interview:
+ Experience developing and influencing productive partnerships and create innovative solutions.
+ Experience and proven success in leading the development and implementation of DEI learning initiatives across complex organizations.
+ Work experience in change management, specifically related to DEI and workplace culture.
A related Doctorate degree may substitute for two (2) years of DEI experience; Master's degree may substitute for 18 months of DEI experience; Bachelor's degree may substitute for one (1) year of DEI experience; Associate degree may substitute for six (6) months of DEI experience.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Experience in DEI data collection, analysis, and reporting.
+ Experience in development of hiring goals through availability and under-utilization analyses.
+ Experience developing and implementing training programs within the agency.
+ Experience with conflict management, including mediation and small/large group facilitation.
+ Experience and knowledge building teams by developing position descriptions, hiring, assign work, and training and developing team members.
