DIVING SUPERINTENDENT
Qualification
· Higher National Certificate (HNC) (or) Diploma (or) relevant Apprentice from recognized universities with extensive offshore installation/diving experience. Diploma qualification is not mandatory if the candidate has any one of the following certificates:
· IMCA Closed Bell Diver
· IMCA Air Diving Supervisor
· IMCA Bell/Saturation Diving Supervisor (Class III)
· NDT Operator level 2 (Optional)
Skills/Experience
· Minimum 10 to 15 years of experience in offshore construction/installation/diving out of which 8 years in oil & gas industry.
· Offshore Air Diving and Saturation Diving Supervisor experience.
· Should have the following additional qualification
§ IMCA Closed Bell Diver
§ IMCA Air Diving Supervisor
§ IMCA Bell/Saturation Diving Supervisor (Class III)
§ NDT Operator level 2 (Optional) Hands on experience on the following is preferable
§ Previous experience as Diving Representative would be an added advantage.
§ Boat Landing Replacement
§ Riser, J-Tube Installation and Sub-Sea spool tie-in
§ Umbilical installation including I-Tubes
§ Water Jetting, Removal of Debris and marine growth from Jackets and other sub-sea assets
§ Spool and PLEM Tie-in with ROV simultaneous operation
§ Pipelay and Jackets Installation
§ Removal of redundant riser and pipelines from Seabed.
§ Ability to highlight potential bottlenecks/problems related to diving activities and suggest solutions.
§ Good communication and report writing skills.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
· Overall responsible for diving activities including vessel deployment preceding and during diving deployment on-board the vessel.
· Review, comments and approve contractor submitted procedures, dive plans and method statements and provide input when reviewing or developing new work instructions and procedures.
· Ensure that the work is carried out in a safe manner and in compliance with scope of works, approved engineering standards, Company regulations and specifications and IMCA standards
· Monitor, Control and supervise all diving activities onboard the DSV vessel representing Company project department assigned projects in offshore.
· Coordinate with Company marine (dive boats section) and manage all inspections of dive boats, diving spread, IMCA audit/inspection, punch list close-out and finally ensure that the dive vessels and the diving spread are mobilized in full compliance with Company regulations, international standards and IMCA guidelines.
· Ensure to issue Daily Progress Report (DPR) to projects highlighting the daily activities, areas of concern and propose mitigation measures.
· Ensure diving operations are carried from a suitable and safe location on the surface and in compliance with Air and Nitrox Dive Manual, The Diving Project Plan and any permit to work system.
· Ensure that Safety Meetings and Risk Assessments are held and documented on a regular basis. Participate actively to the preparation of JSAs, MOCs and daily progress meetings.
· Ensure that all Hazard Observations, Safe Act, Unsafe Act & Conditions, Near Misses & Incidents are reported.
· Proactive with safety while performing site construction / installation/diving activities in live plant and ensure site compliance with statutory safety and environmental regulations.
· Under general supervision of Head, Construction and/or Company Representative, take the decisions on the project issues within the framework of respective contract documents and Company procedures/guidelines, in close coordination and concurrence with the Project Team.
· Accountable for efficiently managing all diving activities.
· Frequent long working hours may be required including out-door field work.
· Exposed to multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural environment requiring special management skills. Management of sound inter-personal relationships and effective communication within Company and Contractor Teams.
