Division Controller
Overview JOB SUMMARY: Directs the Division’s accounting functions, manages company assets and working capital, and measures division performance to meet or exceed GSF and division objectives. Responsibilities + Plans and directs the Divisions’ accounting functions to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and to meet GSF and division performance objectives. (30%) + Directs and conducts various special projects and feasibility studies for new products, new customers, or business opportunities to meet corporate strategic objectives. (20%) + Oversees periodic financial reporting to ensure timely, accurate, and thorough information for division and corporate management on working capital and capital spending, and to protect company assets. (15%) + Develops and disseminates the annual business plan to establish performance objectives and to comply with corporate guidelines. (15%) + Directs or performs a variety of financial or accounting activities (budget preparation, sales data, costs, audits, etc.) to meet specific Division operating requirements. (10%) + Interacts with Information Services to represent the Division and to collaborate on the implementation of new applications. (10%) + Adheres to food safety, quality and legal compliance. In the event of a crisis (i.e. product recall, fire, etc.) delegate responsibilities as outlined in the Crisis Communications and Management Guide. + Adheres to safety, health and environmental standards of the facility. + Performs other related and assigned duties as necessary Qualifications Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of (B/basic; J/journey; E/expert): · Generally accepted accounting principles (E) · PC word processing/spreadsheet software (E) · Cost accounting (E) · Pricing concepts and techniques (E) · Budgetary concepts and techniques (J) · Company computer systems (J) Skill and ability to: · Manage and motivate employees in a team-based environment · Analyze and resolve complex problems · Identify accounting problems or anomalies and identify appropriate solutions · Prepare a variety of comprehensive administrative and technical documents · Prepare and deliver presentations to management and customers · Work effectively in a general business environment, with a focus on high levels of quality and customer service · Travel via airplane and drive an automobile · Act in accordance with GSF’s Values and Creed LEADERSHIP/MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY Manages, through subordinate supervisors, up to 3 employees.
