Division Controller - Service

**Job Description:**
As a key member of the MTS Service leadership team, the Division Controller partners with and reports to the Vice President General Manager - Service to develop and implement division strategy by evaluating and developing financial analysis, models, & reports. The role is responsible for leading and overseeing all fiduciary responsibilities for the Division to drive business results. The Division Controller ensures proper implementation of the ITW business model as well as continual simplification and cost saving opportunities. Oversees initiatives to maximize cash flow and operating margins, including ongoing improvement in working capital performance against established metrics.
**Major Areas of Accountability:**
**1. Financial Planning & Analysis**
+ Effectively communicate and coordinate the exchange of financial information (actual results, KPI metrics, forecasting information) to key stakeholders and other departments to help drive business decisions (operations, sales, HR, IT, Legal, R&D, etc) and explain data to management as necessary. Assist with suggesting and providing measurable and accurate financial targets to evaluate the performance of the business.
+ Contribute to the Front To Back 80/20 process to develop a strategic vision and support implementation of plans.
+ Develop financial models / justification to support capital investments, leases, customer back innovation (CBI) & other investments in the business.
+ Provide monthly reporting package and financial outlook for the business (and assist with platform related forecasting duties)
+ Serve as primary financial support / reviewer of customer contracts & quotes ensuring proper pricing and margins are achieved.
+ Communicate as necessary with segment and Corporate leadership on financial related matters for the division
+ Prepare monthly financials for country specific P&L for ~10 different service entities globally and present / educate service leaders on results and observations
**2. Business Partnership**
+ Partner with VP and Division leadership on all operational and strategic issues as they arise; provide strategic recommendations based on data driven financial analysis and projections
+ Partners with the leadership team to prepare, develop, present and execute Annual Plan (AOP) and Long Range Plans (LRP) based on in-depth understanding of business and operations
+ Build cross-department credibility, confidence, and collaboration with other functional areas within MTS
+ Work cross functionally with accounting functions to provide accurate and timely financial information in accordance with the Company’s month-end close requirements and explain any key variances to outlook / AOP.
**3. Accounting / Controls (for MTS India location & MTS Service Revenue Accounting globally)**
+ Manage and control the financial activities, transactions and resources. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of Division financial information in compliance with ITW policies and GAAP. Coordination of internal / external audit and tax compliance.
+ Advises business partners and staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.
+ Manages the monthly general ledger account reconciliation process in accordance with Corporate requirements, including timely analysis and resolution of reconciling items.
+ Reviews and approves of complex accruals and reserve analyses and significant recurring monthly journal entries.
+ Directs and performs various internal controls related to the month-end close and financial reporting process.
+ Interfaces with internal and external auditors in providing and analyzing financial information to support the Company’s annual financial statement audit, audits of internal controls, and quarterly reviews.
**4. People Leadership and Talent Development:**
+ Develop Finance professionals focused on profitable growth, improving customer satisfaction and simplifying business processes. Ensure ITW Toolbox and 80/20 culture is fully embedded within the team. This position will lead a team of 2 Direct reports (1 North America, 1 India)
+ Identify, lead and develop talent in order to maximize individual, team and organizational effectiveness in meeting company goals. This may include: selecting and on-boarding talent; communicating effectively to foster a culture of engagement, cascading vision, creating goal alignment, and coaching through feedback, development planning and performance management
+ Use personal influence skills rather than position power to persuade others and gain support
+ Champion the effective use of change management principles, strategies and techniques to plan, implement and evaluate change
+ Builds a strong pipeline of talent to ensure a diverse high performing organization

**Minimum Qualifications:**
Education:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
+ CPA preferred (not required)
Years of relevant experience:
+ 8+ years of experience in accounting, finance, audit, and /or controllership
Travel requirements:
+ Minimal travel expected averaging <5%, domestic and international.
+ Must possess a valid driver’s license and able to obtain automobile/liability coverage
**Preferred Qualifications:**
Working knowledge within ERP system
Strong IT knowledge with excellent computer skills (MS excel, word, PowerPoint)
Team player with strong interpersonal skills

**Compensation Information:**
_The salary for this position ranges from $111,000 - $166,000_ _based on education and experience._
