Division Engineer - Thermoformed & Flexible Packaging (TFP)

Reporting directly to the Division SPS / Project Manager as the Division Engineer is responsible for maintaining consistent awareness of global laws, regulations, and consumer demands that impact food contact, food additive, pharmaceutical, and medical device categories. In this role, he/she will also provide tactical and strategic product safety/regulatory details/direction and identify process improvements, policies and protocols as they relate to product safety activities within the business units and customer requests.

What you’ll be doing:

Design, implement and manage project to ensure that all equipment is compliant with applicable federal, state, and local regulatory requirements both domestically and internationally.Support the plants with on site prep, install and start up of equipmentCreate migration plans where needed and collate regulatory documentation.Provide project updates to StakeholdersWork with suppliers to define scope of work, pricing, training and ongoing supportBe knowledgeable of ever changing regulatory requirements both at local, state and national levelsLead Division MET team through monthly calls, plant support and sharing of best practicesExecute projects with Safety first mentality all the while staying in budget and on scheduleProvide strategic planning proposals for equipment that will become obsolete and recommendations on equipment replacement to meet new regulations.

Bachelors degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with 5 plus years of project management experience.Communicates Effectively - developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiencesManages Complexity - Make sense of complex, high quantity and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problemsPlans and Aligns - planning and prioritizing work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goalsOptimizes Work Processes - knowing the most effective and efficient processes to get tasks completed.Experience/desire to manage/lead people.Global regulatory experience in a food contact application.Preferred:  Working knowledge of required compliance test requirements for food contact and/or pharma/med device.Strong prioritization skills.Capability to handle multiple tasks.Able to work independently and make recommendations and decisions.Willing to take challenges, hardworking, self-motivated, and dependable.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Proficient in MS Office, Word, Excel, CAD along with the ability to learn other systems as neededExtensive knowledge of one or more of the following regulatory bodies; US, South Africa, EU, South America, and/or Asia, specifically as it relates to Food Contact regulations.

Compensation:

The annual base salary range for this role is from $131,920 to $148,410, plus an annual target bonus of 12.5% of base salary.
