D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Division Paralegal. The right candidate will support the Land Acquisition and Land Development departments by coordinating legal and accounting requirements necessary to meet division goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Request and review draft land/lot contracts from local counselPrepare summaries of purchase and sale agreements for team distributionPrepare and submit the corporate land/lot contract package for review and approval including closing documents, escrow instructions, and settlement statementsProcess earnest money requests, deposits and releasesRequest and review title, environmental studies, surveys, site plans etc.Prepare and submit Notice of Suitability (NOS) packagesSubmit weekly funding requests to accountingPrepare and update weekly contracts status reportPrepare performance due date emails for team distributionRequest and review easements and Common Open Spaces (COS) deeds for recordationDraft contracts and amendments as necessary, including HOA covenants, conditions, easements and restrictionsManage, organize, and provide oversight on a wide variety of contracts and projectsOrganize and maintain daily correspondenceMaintain seller/broker/owner contact files Prepare monthly, quarterly and yearly land/lot acquisition reports Research various legal issues as requested by local counselStore and manage project files and archives in the DRH system Understand D.R.
