Divisional Human Resources Generalist

OVERVIEW: 

The Divisional Human Resources Generalist position is responsible to the Human Resource Director. The purpose of this position is to provide HR/Systems support to the Divisional Headquarters and the Corps.

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide daily HR support and services to all assigned locations  Coordinate the assignment, tracking, and monitoring of required HR training Prepare and review the weekly Human Resources agenda for Command Finance Council meetings Distribute approved Command Finance Council decisions to Corps Manage the New Employee Benefits process for the GS Division Annual MVR Process Submit required paperwork for employment approval from field locations Oversee the pre-hire and onboarding processes for new hires Handle all terminations and status changes Oversee the employee evaluation process (30, 60 and 90 Day) for assigned Corps Assist with employment verification requests Maintain accurate records in HRIS system Communicate with stakeholders to address HR-related inquiries and follow-up Answer various inquiries from leadership and employees on benefits, evaluations, and payroll Assist with the coordination and execution of HR events Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local HR-related regulations Travel to various Corps locations for onsite HR support Distribution of incoming mail for the HR Department Responsible for Recruitment and Posting of open positions within your assigned locations Work closely with assigned locations to oversee the Kettle Season process, including training, background checks, payroll matters, and other related tasks. Other related duties as required

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Software Knowledge of Salvation Army practices and organization (preferred) Strong customer service skills Bilingual in Spanish or Chinese (preferred) Organized, self-motivated, assertive, dependable and detail-oriented Initiative and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing organizational needs. Analytical and research skills Strong ethical standards and ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

AA degree (required) Experience in human resources (2 years required) Bachelor’s Degree in business administration or Human Resources (preferred) Professional Certification in Human Resources (preferred) Knowledge of Wage and Hour Laws

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (usually file boxes)
