Divisional/Plant Controller
Description We are offering an exciting contract to hire opportunity in the automotive industry based in Longview, Texas, United States, for a Divisional/Plant Controller. In this role, you will be tasked with overseeing the organization's accounting and finance functions, providing valuable analysis to increase revenue and profits, and ensuring the accuracy of the plant's reporting systems. Responsibilities: • Oversee the preparation of financial statements and internal/external reporting packages, ensuring SOX compliance and facilitating audits. • Regularly track plant performance against targets, making necessary modifications and accurately forecasting anticipated performance. • Ensure the integrity of plant reporting systems, including receiving, shipping, inventories, labor efficiency, and material usage, to provide accurate financial statements. • Coordinate plant activities in accounting costs and budgets, developing cost standards and expense budgets to measure product cost, expense control, and plant performance. • Facilitate the monthly closing process with the accounting staff to meet reporting requirements and deadlines. • Monitor and ensure the completeness and accuracy of the cycle count program. • Prepare requests and justifications for capital expenditures in accordance with corporate guidelines. • Conduct monthly financial reviews with plant staff to track performance and forecast improvements. • Maintain the accuracy of all balance sheet accounts by ensuring monthly/quarterly account reconciliations are completed as scheduled. • Coordinate activities related to year-end audit requirements, SOX compliance, operating plans, forecasts, and outlooks. • Oversee and resolve any issues regarding procedures, systems, or cost centers. • Delegate accounting functions to members of the accounting department, ensuring the attainment of assigned goals. • Review and approve all continuous improvement initiative reporting of anticipated and actual results. • Supervise the accounting staff, carrying out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Requirements • Proficient in Controllership, with ability to oversee all financial aspects of the division/plant • Expertise in Month End Close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting • Experience in Management Reporting, with a focus on presenting clear and concise financial data to stakeholders • Strong understanding of Financial Statement composition and interpretation • Skilled in Financial Statement Preparation, with the capacity to generate accurate and comprehensive reports • Ability to prepare Inventory Reports, keeping track of stock levels and costs • Familiarity with the Manufacturing sector, understanding its unique financial requirements and challenges • Experience in Manufacturing Cost Accounting, with a focus on calculating and reducing production costs • Proficient in Cost Accounting, with the ability to accurately estimate and control operational expenses Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
