Divisional Sales Manager, Inbound

Groupon’s Inbound Sales Manager is responsible for leading a team of Inbound Sales Representatives (ISRs) for all of Groupon North America (pretty big deal if we do say so ourselves). The Inbound team manages the initial relationships with the thousands of small and medium-sized local businesses who reach out Groupon on a daily basis. The Inbound Sales Representative team is responsible for understanding each business’s unique value proposition to our subscribers, how Groupon can help accelerate their business and then negotiating unbeatable offers on behalf of Groupon’s subscribers.

This leader will be responsible for the team’s performance including team production, revenue generation, and growth. As an Inbound Sales Manager, you will oversee these reps by providing day-to-day management, coaching, and feedback in large group, small group, and one-on-one conversations. Candidates must possess strong business acumen, a balance of analytic and interpersonal skills, a strong drive to achieve measurable results, and the ability to manage and motivate team members with a wide range of experiences and skills. This manager will interact with multiple departments at Groupon and must be able to foster collaborative relationships with a variety of internal stakeholders.

Regular Functions:

Provide feedback, guidance, and coaching to direct reports regarding communication, organization, efficiency, and knowledge of Groupon products, tools and services

Analyze and manage individual ISRs including expectation setting, monitoring and reporting, and qualitative and quantitative performance assessment in line with HR standards

Coach ISRs on basic business concepts like accounting, finance and marketing, deal structuring, objection handling and expectation management

Screen, interview, hire and onboard new Inbound Sales Representatives

Liaise with managers from Sales, City Planning, Training, Operations, Editorial, Customer Service, Accounting, and Product/Engineering

Partner with department heads to develop and execute overall strategy for Inbound Team

Requirements:

3+ years of relevant experience in sales, account management, operations, consulting, general management or similar roles

2+ years of management experience or equivalent internal experience 

Bachelor’s degree

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, business acumen, and coaching abilities

Results-driven with proven experience in achieving and exceeding set targets

Demonstrated understanding of the pace, flexibility, and attention-to-detail essential in an entrepreneurial sales and account management environment

Ability to plan and carry out job responsibilities thoroughly, efficiently and with minimal direction
