DME Specialist or Cast Technician

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where you can grow professionally while making a direct impact on patient recovery and comfort. **Apply today!** **$500 sign-on bonus!** + Medical, Dental and Vision Coverage + Health Savings account with employer contribution* + 401k plan with 2% profit sharing contribution and 3% Safe Harbor contribution after 1 year of service* + Company paid short term disability + Company paid life insurance + Voluntary benefits including vision, accident and critical illness insurance + Paid time off which increases with length of service + Company provided corporate apparel **G** **eneral Description** The DME Specialist will primarily be performing casting and applying durable medical equipment for patients as well as routine clinical tasks related to patient care under the supervision of a provider as needed. **Responsibilities** + Cast application, specialty casts, suture/staple removal, dressing changes; prepares injections, obtains cultures as ordered/needed; + Durable Medical Equipment (DME): Primary clinical staff to dispense DME to patients, application of DME, custom brace measurements, DME inventory and ordering DME supplies; + Verifying patient information; recording medical history and reporting to physician; + Assisting provider with patient care, including in office reductions/procedures; + Calling patients to make DME appointments once insurance authorization is obtained; + Maintain and safeguard all patient records as indicated and required by the policies of the practice and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA); + Engage in a teamwork mentality by readily accepting additional responsibilities needed to make the office run efficiently; + Other responsibilities as needed. **Skills and Qualifications** + Bachelor’s degree from a program in athletic training that is registered by the New York State Education Department as licensure qualifying (ATC required) or graduate from an accredited school of nursing; + Unrestricted current LPN License or NYS ATC License; + National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) Board Certification; + One to three years’ experience preferred; + Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred; + Experience casting preferred, willing to train; + Excellent communication and customer service skills; + Must be familiar with medical terminology **Other Information** + Reliable transportation required. + Heavy lifting: frequent lifting of up to 100 pounds with assistance and carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds 7:30am-4pm 40 hours per week
