The qualified candidate will be expected to perform various molecular biology techniques on fish cells. **Must haves:** - Prior experience with DNA extraction of fish cells. **Job Responsibilities:** + Perform both high-throughput and manual DNA extraction from various sample types. + Ensure DNA integrity and quality using a range of quality control (QC) techniques. + Maintain accurate, detailed, and organized laboratory records. + Receive, log, and prepare biological samples for downstream analysis. + Adhere strictly to standard operating procedures (SOPs), including those related to Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) practices. + Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to DNA extraction and quality control processes. + Follow established protocols for the collection, storage, and handling of samples to preserve their integrity. + Implement and uphold quality control measures to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of test results. + Maintain precise and thorough documentation in compliance with laboratory standards and regulatory requirements. **Requirements:** + Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related scientific field + Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in a molecular biology laboratory, either in an academic or industry setting + Proven proficiency in DNA isolation and associated quality control (QC) protocols + Strong attention to detail and a solid understanding of standard laboratory practices + Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and complete tasks efficiently and on time + Comfortable troubleshooting DNA extraction and QC issues, as well as executing laboratory automation protocols + Practical experience with a range of DNA extraction methods, including isolation, purification, and fragmentation\#INDBH We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
