Document Controller

Job Summary:
One of our major oil and gas clients is seeking a Document Controller for a 12-month assignment at their Houston, TX facility. The ideal candidate will have experience managing engineering and construction documentation, ensuring compliance with company standards, and coordinating with vendors and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Document Control & Compliance Maintain and manage document control systems, ensuring compliance with company standards and archiving procedures. Track, index, manage, and archive both hard copy and electronic documentation/drawings. Complete tracking, logging, version control, and updates of technical documents. Ensure compliance with client and company document retention policies. Generate and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports. Drawing & Vendor Coordination Maintain drawing check-in/check-out logs. Coordinate with multiple vendors regarding checked-out drawings. Transmit drawing files to vendors, turnaround teams, and internal project teams. Maintain and update piping line lists, fixed equipment indexes, and equipment files. View System Management (Preferred) Upload and update engineering documents in the View System.
SAP & Work Order Management Add, update, and maintain fixed equipment records in SAP. Create new service and material requisitions, as well as update existing ones. Generate new work orders and track accruals. Accruals & Capital Projects Support (Required) Work closely with project managers to collect and organize backup documentation for capital projects. Coordinate with the refinery controller and submit accruals to the San Antonio accounting department. Qualifications:
Required: High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 3 years of document control experience in the petrochemical or oil & gas industry
Experience with SAP for equipment tracking, work orders, and requisitions
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to multi-task
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and processes
Preferred: Experience working in an office setting with administrative responsibilities
Knowledge of engineering document control standards and construction drawings
Familiarity with View System for document management
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access), Adobe Acrobat, AutoCAD 2018, and AcroPlot
