The Document Imaging Quality Specialist, under the leadership of the HIM Supervisor/Manager, will perform qualitative analysis of documents scanned into the electronic medical record by users throughout the Johns Hopkins Health System. The Specialist will ensure documents have been scanned accurately and according to the established policy including, but not limited to, the correct patient, encounter and document type selection, the entry of the appropriate document description and the sequencing and legibility of the scanned documents. The Specialist will assist in quality report compilation. The Specialist will participate in special projects related to document imaging. The Specialist will assist in training existing and newly-hired HIM Document Imaging Specialists as well as provide direction and follow up training to external users.
Education:
High School diploma or GED required.
Active enrollment in an accredited Health Information Management Program preferred.
Work Experience:
Track One: Two years Health Information Management (HIM) scanning/indexing experience required.
Track Two: RHIT/RHIA credential with one-year HIM experience required.
Salary Range: Minimum 18.31 per hour - Maximum 30.24 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
