Kadiak LLC, a subsidiary of Koniag Government Services, is seeking a detail-oriented Document Imaging Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for accurately scanning and digitizing various healthcare records and documents, ensuring proper indexing and organization within the electronic document management system. The ideal candidate should have experience in a healthcare setting, excellent attention to detail, and a strong commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
**Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:**
**The Document Imaging Technician will be responsible for:**
+ Prepare and organize paper-based healthcare records, documents, and forms for scanning and digitization.
+ Operate high-speed scanners and imaging software to capture and digitize healthcare records and documents accurately and efficiently.
+ Examine scanned records and verify patient identification using multiple systems and applications.
+ Identify non-standard forms and determine appropriate actions required, such as forwarding to the appropriate department or subject matter expert.
+ Index and organize scanned documents within the electronic document management system, adhering to established naming conventions and filing protocols.
+ Perform quality control checks to ensure the accuracy and completeness of scanned documents and their associated metadata.
+ Prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, maintaining high productivity and accuracy levels.
+ Maintain strict confidentiality regarding patient information and comply with all relevant privacy and data security regulations.
+ Assist with other clerical duties related to document management and record-keeping as needed.
**Requirements:**
**Education:**
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Ability to obtain a Public Trust
**Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:**
+ Minimum of 1 year of experience in health information management or clerical work, with at least 6 months in a healthcare setting.
+ Basic computer skills and experience with scanning software and document management systems.
+ Proficient in operating high-speed scanners, imaging software, and electronic document management systems.
+ Excellent attention to detail and ability to accurately verify patient information and identify non-standard forms.
+ Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
+ Ability to maintain high productivity and accuracy levels while working under tight deadlines.
+ Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions and document procedures.
+ Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to privacy and data security regulations.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
**Desired Skills and Competencies:**
+ Experience with optical character recognition (OCR) and indexing techniques for scanned documents.
+ Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare documentation standards.
+ Knowledge of document management best practices and record-keeping regulations in the healthcare industry.
+ Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot document imaging and indexing issues.
+ Proficiency in utilizing different software applications and database systems for document management.

**Working Environment & Conditions**
This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.
The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
