Documentation Analyst/Specialist Job Description


Job Summary:

The Documentation Analyst (Policies & Procedures) is responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing Company policies and procedures to ensure clarity, compliance, and operational efficiency. This role involves working closely with stakeholders to create, review, and update policy documents ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and best practices. Drive a culture of documentation at GEICO.

Key Responsibilities:

Policy Development and Management: Draft, revise, and standardize policies and procedures to support business functions and regulatory compliance within approved templates.Quality & Compliance Assurance: Ensure all documentation aligns with legal, regulatory, and organizational standards.Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with leadership, CCRA, legal, and operational departments to gather input and validate policy accuracy. Coordinate with department SMEs to ensure changes are incorporating correctly.Documentation Control & Versioning: Maintain version control, track revisions, and manage document approvals.Process Optimization Analyze current policies and procedures, identify gaps and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.Training and Communication Assist in educating associates on policy updates, procedural changes, and best practices to ensure proper implementation.Audit and Reporting Support: Provide documentation support for audit, regulator, or legal asks. Compile reporting data for monthly meetings and forums, ensuring timely and accurate sources of records are upheld.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's degree in English, Professional/Technical Writing, Journalism, Information Science, or a related field.Experience with policy/technical writing, document management, and regulatory compliance.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, accessible documents.Ability to work collaboratively across departments, manage multiple priorities, and meet strict deadlines.Knowledge and experience with creating and maintaining structure and style guides.Proficiency in document management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and compliance tracking tools a plus.


 

Annual Salary

$56,375.00 - $115,825.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
