Aspirus At Home in Wausau, WI is seeking a DOCUMENTATION AUDITOR - HOME MEDICAL EQUIPMENT to join our team!

The Documentation Auditor uses superior customer service skills to assist patients, physicians, and professional staff, and other professional referrals, with their durable medical equipment/supplies needs either face-to-face, fax, and/or via telephone. They assist the Director/Customer Service Manager of Aspirus at Home Medical Equipment with resolving issues related to billing rejections and with performing internal/external chart audits. The Documentation Auditor utilizes superior critical thinking ability to answer inquiries about and research insurance billing and requirements, product, procedures, and policies. They act as a liaison between patients, insurance companies, facilities, physicians, other medical staff, and administrative staff. He/She must be able to demonstrate teamwork, have strong organizational skills, and have an above average ability to multi-task and problem solve.

HOURS: Full Time or 1.0 FTE, 80 hours every 2 weeks. 

Experience/Qualifications

Knowledge of customer service and general accounting practices in a health care environment normally acquired through completion of a High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience, with an Associate Degree in a business or health-related field beneficial.Five years of experience in home medical equipment preferred.Five years of medical practice office or home medical equipment including dealing with customer service, or six years in a general office environment, necessary to enhance and develop skills.Demonstrates knowledge of and compliance with agency policies, procedures, regulations, and reimbursement for durable medical equipment.Demonstrated knowledge of ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding, HCPCS and medical terminology.Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance knowledge required.Problem solving, multi-tasking, and strong organization skills essential.Demonstrated knowledge of database software programs; data processing experience.
