Documentation Engineer

Job Summary 

If you are an Engineer looking for an opportunity to grow on a global platform, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you in our Project Management Organization! Be a member of Centre of Excellence (CoE) Customer Care team and  own the responsibility of  post order documentation for project orders by collaborating with various factories globally to meet the committed due dates as agreed in the EDDI  (Emerson Document Deliverable Index) by collecting project documents, reviewing, ensuring proper storage, easy retrieval, maintain database, track revisions and ensure compliance with organizational procedures and industry standards. 

 

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Document controller should take the ownership of project documentation from the project awarded stage till final submission. Doc Controller should be active in project Kick-off meeting to understand the project documentation requirements of the customer. Document controller should work closely with all stake holders (Factories, PM, IPM and Customer) and take lead for the on time submission of all documents and document approvals in line with agreed EDDI (Emerson Document Delivery Index). Maintain detailed status of documents in EDDI/VDRL. (Vendor Document Register List)   Ensure documents are submitted and received on time, as well as correctly stored in Emerson’s document repository/ Doc Pro software. Prepare cover pages for documents & manage the transmittal of documents between Emerson and customers. Prepare comment resolution sheet to cater the comments and responses from factory or Project Manager for the commented documents, in line with the requirement of project scope of supply. Continuous follow-up with customer and internal resources to expedite overdue documents that need to be submitted or approved. Upload documents to customers through their Document Management portals or send via email. Provide project document status report to customer & project managers. Prepare & submit Manufacturing Record Book (MRB) / Final data book in accordance with the approved MRB Index. Work closely with customer until final approvals of the MRB to claim breakthrough payment of project documentation as specified in the purchase order.

For This Role, You Will Need:

Good assertive communication skills to deal with global partners (strong written & verbal communication in English language is mandatory)  Proficiency in MS Office Tools (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access) Ability to prioritize and multitask. Strong organizational and detail orientation skills, tech-savvy. Ability to comprehend technical details/technical literacy. Demonstrated teamwork or ability to work in a team environment. Should be an outspoken character. Must be able to manage complex situations under pressure.

 

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

Degree in Engineering or any other Degree or equivalent experience with proven experience.
