DoD Capture Manager - Defense (Remote)

Overview:

Praescient Analytics is seeking a highly motivated and entrepreneurial DoD Capture Manager with experience to take the next step in their career by owning their results rather than working for someone else. This role is perfect for a strategic thinker who excels at identifying and capitalizing on new opportunities. You will be empowered to build and grow a DoD business account, fully leveraging your network and our advanced capabilities in areas such as engineering, application development, Cloud engineering, Big Data, Data Science, AI/ML, and Information and Data Analytics Services.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Business Development: Utilize your network and strategic insight to identify and source new business opportunities within the DoD that align with Praescient Analytics' capabilities and growth objectives.

Capture Management: Lead the capture process from start to finish, including opportunity identification, proposal development (working with internal proposal writing and proposal managing team or external teams as needed), and closing deals. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that Praescient Analytics continues to win and deliver high-impact projects for the DoD.

Portfolio Ownership: Take full ownership of your DoD account, with the responsibility and rewards tied directly to your portfolio’s success. You will manage the P&L for your account and benefit from profit-sharing arrangements that allow you to truly own your results.

Building Strategic Relationships: Forge and maintain relationships with large integrators to secure both subcontractor roles and Prime roles under Praescient’s WOSB and 8(a) certifications. Use these relationships to expand Praescient’s footprint within the DoD.

Praescient Capabilities Integration: Leverage and promote Praescient Analytics' full suite of capabilities, including engineering, application development, Big Data, Data Science, AI/ML, and more, to differentiate our offerings and drive new business.

Competitive Analysis: Conduct detailed analysis of competitors, customer behaviors, and procurement trends to develop winning capture strategies.

Contract Negotiation & Closing: Negotiate favorable contract terms and successfully close deals that align with Praescient’s financial and strategic goals, ensuring long-term value and profitability.

Market Intelligence: Stay ahead of the curve by monitoring and analyzing the latest developments, opportunities, and risks within the DoD market, using this intelligence to shape proactive capture strategies.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including business development, operations, finance, and legal, to ensure alignment and comprehensive support for your capture efforts.

Required Qualifications:

Experience: 5-10 years of experience in DoD capture management or business development, with a proven track record of identifying, competing, and closing deals in the defense sector.

Entrepreneurial Mindset: Looking for a candidate ready to graduate from working for someone else to owning their results. You should have a strong desire to take control of your portfolio and drive it to success.

Network: Must have a robust network within the DoD, including key decision-makers, stakeholders, and large defense integrators.

Capture Expertise: In-depth knowledge of capture management processes and strategies, with demonstrated success in leading and winning complex capture efforts.

Strategic Thinking: Strong ability to strategize, identify opportunities, and execute on a plan to achieve business growth and success.

Financial Acumen: While P&L management experience is preferred, candidates with the ability and willingness to learn financial management will be considered.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree or certifications in business development, project management, or a related area is a plus.

Skills: Excellent strategic thinking, negotiation, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams.

Clearance: Active security clearance or the ability to obtain one is required.
