Summary:
The Business Development Specialist is a role that combines all aspects of business development to include sales, marketing, and client relationship management. The candidate will possess the following skills sets: marketing knowledge, strategy experience, proposal management, sales experience, business development training experience, and network experience. The ideal candidate is a high-energy people person with excellent interpersonal communication skills. He/she is a detail-oriented and well-organized individual who enjoys working as a member of a team. A Business Development Specialist needs a combination of sales acumen, industry knowledge, relationship-building skills, and strategic thinking to drive growth. This position is advertised in Washington, D.C. with the work location in San Antonio, TX.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Research prospective clients in targeted markets, pursue business development leads, and secure new business. Maintain relationships with current clients to identify areas for new business Meet with prospective clients to market Vighter’s ability to provide high quality services Exhibit and/or participate at industry events (tradeshows, professional organizations, conferences, etc…). Prepare white papers, responses to requests for information (RFI), Collaborate with other departments such as corporate finance, business support, and operations when preparing proposals. Draft responses to Requests For Proposals (RFP) and Requests for Quotes (RFQ) for review by senior management. Follow up with clients to determine the status of submitted proposals. Conduct after action analysis on submitted proposals after award. Utilize social media to market Vighter to potential clients. Collect information on industry trends, buying habits, and competitors.Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor’s degree or higher is preferred. Experience in Acquisitions is highly desired. Contracting Specialist (CS) or Contracting Officer (KO) experience is highly preferred. Must be eligible for the DoD Skillbridge program. This is an unpaid internship program leading to full employment after your retirement or end of service from one of the military branches. Experience in the Military Health Systems (MHS) is preferred. Annual budget execution experience is preferred. Excellent analytical, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Experience in marketing, business development and/or outside sales functions. Proven track record in B2B sales, staffing, or recruitment business development. Strong ability to identify, engage, and close deals with healthcare facilities, hospitals, clinics, and government agencies. Ability to conduct research on a variety of topics. Ability to analyze market trends and identify new revenue streams. Professionalism, dependability, integrity and trustworthiness combined with a cooperative attitude. Highly motivated self-starter with ability to multitask and complete assignments within time constraints and deadline. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Solid problem-solving and team management abilities.Bonus Qualities:
