Through DoD SkillBridge and Hiring Our Heroes, Sierra Nevada Corporation provides internships to service members transitioning to the civilian workforce. These internships include up to six months of on-the-job training for eligible service members. During this time, participants gain valuable work experience in the civilian sector and build professional networks as they prepare for their transition to full-time civilian work.As a Security Specialist, you will support SNC's risk-focused security program in the protection of company and customer information, people, and assets. You will facilitate business and mission success through security customer service and efficient administrative security processes. You will handle classified and sensitive material, assist in the development and implementation of security compliance requirements, support security awareness education and training, and participate in security compliance assessments. In this role, you will support all facets of SNC's Security Program to include personnel security, document control, DD254 review and preparation, visitor access and control, physical security, and supporting security investigations. You will also have the opportunity to expand your security knowledge across a wide range of security disciplines and participate in internal security working groups and special project initiatives.
Qualifications You Must Have:
• Currently serving as active duty military and be eligible to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program
• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• 2+ years of experience in security, military, or administrative fields
• Strong verbal and electronic communication skills
• Self-motivated and willing to learn
• Strong attention to detail
Qualifications We Prefer:
• Familiarity with security regulations and best practices
• Knowledge of 32 CFR 117: National Industrial Security Program (NISPOM)
• Experience with access control/visit control/badge management systems and software
