DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Dog Law Enforcement Warden, you will enforce State Dog Law and Rabies Laws in Potter and Tioga counties. Your duties include inspecting licensed dogs, investigating complaints about dogs running at large, and inspecting kennels for compliance with regulations. You will prosecute violations of the laws, attend hearings, and present evidence. Additionally, you will apprehend loose dogs, investigate dog bite incidents, and handle claims for damages to livestock or poultry. Your role also involves auditing facilities seeking reimbursement for humane stray dog disposal and investigating illegal dog transportation or killing.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment
+ Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
+ This position will be home headquartered if applicant lives in Potter or Tioga County. If applicant does not live in Potter or Tioga County, the assigned state vehicle must be parked in one of these counties and the work day will start at 8:00 AM at the location of the assigned state vehicle.
+ This position may require travel and overtime
+ Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
+ Two years of experience in dog law enforcement, animal control, animal welfare, or animal science work;or
+ An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirement:
+ This position requires possession of an active motor vehicle license.
Additional Requirements:
+ You must be able to perform essential job functions.

+ You must pass a background investigation.
