Our Sydney Distribution Centre located in Pemulwuy/Prospect are looking for a Counter Balance driver with Dogman accreditation to join the DC team.
The Sydney Distribution Centre is over 20,000m2 and has an active role in ensuring our branch network can effectively and efficiently deliver customised service to customers. The SDC also assists our Onsite and Bathroom Life divisions to deliver to Sydney’s largest volume home builders across the Sydney metropolitan area.
Hours: Monday to Friday 6.00am – 2.30pm – permanent full time role based in the warehouse
About the role
In this role you will be working together with the overhead gantry crane operator to ensure safe movement of loads from containers into storage.
Your day to day
Inspecting lifting gear: Checking the condition and suitability of chains, slings, ropes, cables, and hooks Selecting lifting gear: Choosing the right gear for the load, considering its mass, centre of gravity, and nature Calculating safe angles: Using slinging techniques to determine the safest angle for each sling Communicating with the Crane operator: Using hand signals, whistles, or radios to direct the load Checking the load: Ensuring the load is safe by checking its lifting capacity Attaching lifting devices: Using tag lines to attach lifting devices to hoisting equipmentAbout you
