Introduction to the job

The Release and Deliver domain are part of the IT Research and Development Solution Delivery department which, in turn, belongs to ASML IT. The purpose of the Release & Deliver domain is to deliver state-of-the-art tooling enabling seamless creation of releases and Software packages for ASML TWINSCAN and EUV Source products.

The Release and Deliver domain bring value by:

Defining SW integration, release and delivery processes related to software and documentation packages creation.

Creating tooling to implement and automate those release processes while improving cycle times for the ASML software community.

The Release and Delivery domain is managed by a domain owner, the overall architecture is driven by the domain architect in collaboration with the team architects of the four teams in the domain. The teams include junior and senior engineers as well as technical specialists.

We are looking for a domain specialist to support the teams and the domain architect in the Release and Deliver domain.

Roles and responsibilities

You will be working in close collaboration with the domain architect and the teams in the Release and Deliver domain. You will be reporting directly to the domain owner. Your roles and responsibilities include:

Being fully aware and having expert knowledge of a substantial part of the tools and processes employed in the domain.

Be the go-to person for assisting difficult technical problems across teams in the domain. This includes being the technical reference for technical details for domain and team architects.

Co-writing critical domain-level architecture impacting multiple components in the teams. This includes taking the responsibility to lead requirements elicitation, creating trade-off tables, aligning solution direction with stakeholders, creating and visualizing designs, performing technical prototyping and consolidating results in technical documents and presentations.

Supporting the most difficult escalations/issues within the domain.

Guiding junior colleagues. 

Education and experience

In this role, we expect you to have:

5+ years proven experience working as a software engineer working in a highly complex technical and corporate environment.

3+ years proven experience working as a senior architect, creating and aligning requirements and designs for SW development environment ecosystems, with cross-team scope.

Proven experience in writing technical documents and proven ability to communicate effectively in academic-level English with both technical and business stakeholders.

Broad software development background with knowledge of backend SW engineering (Python, Ruby, Django), and front-end SW engineering (React, HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS3).

Experience with DevOps tools, such as Git, GitHub & GitHub Actions (is a plus), BitBucket, Jira, Jenkins.

OS, Cloud, and infrastructure platform knowledge: Linux (RHEL) operating systems, GCP, GKE, Docker and Kubernetes. Puppet and VMWare, Splunk, and Ansible are a plus.

Knowledge of Bazel and multi-repository version control systems (Git Submodules, Google Repo, Gerrit) are a plus.

Software integration or software source code configuration management is a plus.

Experience with software development within ASML or similar environments is a plus.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work.
